Wedding bells: Chris O'Dowd and Dawn Porter, pictured at the British Independent Film Awards earlier this month, are engaged

Celebrity couple Chris O'Dowd and Dawn Porter are set to wed after becoming engaged on holiday in Guernsey.
The Bridesmaids actor, 32, got down on bended knee by the sea at Havelet Bay on Boxing Day.
The couple, who have been dating for nearly three years, announced their engagement on their Twitter pages.

Porter tweeted: 'I guess he liked it, coz he put a ring on it #engaged.
'All your congratulations tweets are getting me VERY excited. Thanks guys, so glad you can all make it to the wedding...'
Former IT Crowd star O'Dowd added: 'I'm so bored of all this happiness and sex. I'm getting married. #engaged.
'Aw, thanks for all the congrats guys. Feelin' the twitter love today. Very happy & lucky boy.'

He put a ring on it: Porter shows off her engagement ring in her new Twitter profile photo

The couple, who live together in South London, started dating after meeting at Porter's 30th birthday party in January 2009.
Recalling their first meeting, O'Dowd once said: 'She was dancing on her own in a leather dress. That kind of did it for me.'
Since playing lovable traffic officer Nathan Rhodes in hit comedy Bridesmaids this year, O'Dowd's burgeoning film career has gone from strength to strength.

Joking around: O'Dowd was his usual funny self as he revealed their engagement on his Twitter page

He reunited with Bridesmaid co-stars Kristen Wiig and Jon Hamm to start in independent comedy Friends With Kids - due out in the new year - and is also starring in upcoming film Sean Carlin Goes Crazy.
He's also writing a new U.S. TV comedy called Big Men.
O'Dowd has been nominated for the Rising Star category at the Bafta Film Awards in February.
Meanwhile, Porter has presented a variety of TV shows for Channel 4 and BBC and also has her own production company Hot Patootie TV.

Christmas joy: The couple uploaded a photo of themselves in matching jumpers on Christmas Day

Lovable: O'Dowd's character in Bridesmaids alongside Kristen Wiig won over a lot of female fans
