'I'm a wreck!' Georgie Thompson wears waterproof mascara to avoid tear-stained cheeks as she bids farewell to Sky Sports

Georgie Thompson turned into 'a bit of a wreck' filming her final scenes for Sky Sports today.
The presenter is bidding farewell to the channel where she found fame in 2001, to embark on a new role for 2012 hosting Sky's new Formula 1 coverage.
Thompson looked typically radiant as she perched on the infamous sofa with co-presenter Julian Warren against the backdrop of a Christmas tree - before dabbing her eyes with a tissue.

Overwhelmed: Georgie was a mixture of smiles and sadness as she presented her final show

Wearing a festive metallic gold dress, with her trademark locks cascading over her shoulders, the 34-year-old put on a brave face as she thanked viewers and fans for her time on the show.
She later expressed her gratitude online, telling her followers: 'Twitter world...thank you for your kind messages and support this afternoon. I am very touched, humbled and a bit of a wreck as a result! X'

Before today's afternoon broadcast, Georgie revealed she would be wearing waterproof mascara to avoid any make-up mishaps should she be overwhelmed with leaving.

The blonde beauty will provide some eye candy next year when she joins forces with new 'onscreen husband' and pit lane reporter Ted Kravitz to present the Formula One Magazine Show.

As her career hurtles forward, perhaps Georgie's love life will take on a new dimension too following her split from boyfriend of two years, Declan Donnelly, in April.
At the time she said: 'It's been painful. At the moment, the parting line is that we’re really good friends and really support each other.
'But it’s been tough, it’s really tough. It’s a really hard thing to live out a painful break-up when you’re in the public eye. It hurts but we have to be grown-up.'
