The smiles say it all: David Tennant and his new wife Georgia were pictured strolling near their London home the day after tying the knot

David Tennant and his new wife Georgia Moffett were yesterday seen showing off their wedding rings just a day after their romantic wedding.
The pair were seen holding hands and smiling broadly at each other as they stepped out following their intimate ceremony, which was then followed by a raucous New Year's Eve reception.
While Mr Tennant sported a simple gold band on his ring finger, Miss Moffett appeared to have gone for something similar in either white gold or platinum - offset next to her huge engagement diamond.

The Doctor Who star, 40, and his 27-year-old bride celebrated their marriage with a party at the Globe Theatre which included a fireworks display.
The couple looked exhausted as they were chauffeured home following the celebration, which was attended by Stephen Fry and Will Mellor.
It emerged yesterday that the couple, who met on the set of Doctor Who, had married in a low-key ceremony.

Before the wedding, a friend said: ‘David and Georgia can’t wait to get married, they are madly in love. They have tried to keep everything quiet and the wedding is for family and closest friends only.’
Even by a Time Lord’s standards, their romance is a fairly head-spinning concept.
Mr Tennant, who played the tenth Doctor who, met his fiancée when she had a guest role in a 2008 episode – playing the Doctor’s daughter, Jenny. Miss Moffett’s father Peter Davison, in turn, had played the fifth Time Lord.
The blonde actress, whose mother is actress Sandra Dickinson, already has a nine-year-old son called Tyler whom she gave birth to in 2002, when she was just 17.

She brought him up alone and has never publicly revealed who the father is.
She then set up home with her Where The Heart Is co-star Adam Harvey in 2004. The couple split up two years later but they remained friends and Harvey continued to be a presence in her son’s life.
Mr Davison, 60, has said of his daughter’s relationship with Mr Tennant: ‘It’s great because David is a genuinely nice guy.
'I’m delighted Georgia has found happiness because she hasn’t always had an easy life.’

He said: ‘I suspect that, crucially, Georgia wasn’t overawed by David. He’s a really nice guy, but a lot of people are intimidated by actors who’ve played The Doctor. I’ve been asked to pose for photos with fans who’ve been shaking beside me, just because I played The Doctor.
‘I suspect that goes on too with David, who, like me, is intimidating without doing anything to intimidate. Georgia was able to get over that, partly because she’s strong and courageous, and partly because she grew up around an actor who played The Doctor. She was never fazed by meeting TV actors when she was a child – it’s second nature to her.’

Prior to dating Mr Tennant, Miss Moffett revealed in an interview: 'David is dishy, isn't he? He's not only a good-looking but he is such a lovely, sweet guy.'
Mr Tennant and his fiancee may already have a minister on stand-by to oversee their nuptials.
The actor’s father is the Rev Sandy Mcdonald, a former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. His beloved mother Helen died from cancer in 2007.
Miss Moffett is not the first actress whom Mr Tennant, whose role was taken over by Matt Smith, has dated.
