Almost gone: The model tries to fight back against gravity and almost wins

Elle Macpherson is by no means a professional surfer but she knows her way around a board.
But while she certainly looked the part in her leotard style wetsuit, the model's technique left a lot to be desired.
BUt the 47-year-old's attempt to ride the waves soon went horribly wrong as she hit the surf and ended up planking as she fell off her board.
The executive producer of Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model had been showing off her water skills all week as she holidayed in her native country.

She had been surfing the Australian waves with all the poise and balance of a real athlete and took along a new board for today's session.
Unfortunately for the 47-year-old even her new equipment couldn't stop her from taking a dive into the deep blue sea.
Wearing a black cutaway wetsuit she looked like a pro-surfer as she first began to ride the waves.
With her toned legs and tan lines on show she began to lose balance and tried to fight back against gravity.

Soon enough, however, she lost her battle and gave in to the inevitable.
She straightened out her body and prepared for the plunge as she crashed straight into the wave.
Her new surfboard was radically coloured with neon orange and yellow lining its edge and Elle was still all smiles when she carried it out of the water.

The 6ft tall model was beaming as she emerged from the sea with her long locks swept back and wringing wet.
Elle has been enjoying getting some sunshine in her native Australia.
The model, who was born in Sydney, is now based mostly in London, England, so she is relishing her time in the warm climate.
Surfing in the sea is one activity that wont be accessible to her back in the capital.

However, if she gets bored when back in London, she at least has a famous friend to keep her occupied.
Elle posted a message to Elizabeth Hurley on Twitter that said: 'baby love your bikini on cover of womans day ! Love you being an ozzie ! (sic)'
The love-in continued with Hurley, 46, tweeting her: 'You look amazing on the cover of Woman's Day in our bikini. Hope your holiday fun with your boys xxx.'
Macpherson has been in Byron Bay over the New Year break with her two sons Arpad and Aurelius and her father Peter Gow.
