Watch your step: A pair of hikers stand proudly on top of the Kjeragbolten boulder in Norway, 1,000 metres above ground
Standing proudly atop a perilously-placed rock in Norweigan mountains, these hikers' pictures capture a unique - and extremely daring - moment.
The stunning photos appear to show brave climbers in danger of falling at any minute as they pose standing on the Kjeragbolten boulder in Norway, which has been wedged between two rock faces for years.
Although the boulder itself is in no apparent danger of being dislodged, should the wind pick up or hikers lose their footing they face a drop of 1,000 metres from the cliff face.
Between a rock and a hard place: Another brave climber stands on the boulder, which attracts scores of walkers looking for a thrill-seeking photograph
It is not known how long the impressive rock has plugged the gap between the two cliff faces, but it has attracted scores of brave hikers looking for a thrill-seeking photo.
Photographer Gard Karlsen, 41, captured the stunning photographs of himself and his brother, Jone Schreuder, while hiking.
Gard said: 'Kjeragbolten is a fantastic natural motif and it looks spectacular once you get there and see it.
Perilous: The Kjeragbolten boulder has been wedged between two rock faces for years
'Everyone seems to be amazed by it and it is used to attract people to this region.
'I show this photo to people all over the world and they are all impressed.'
Gard, from Stavanger, in Norway, added: 'I couldn't help but feel nervous when I was on the rock because at 1,000 metres up the wind can change at any second.'
